![]() They began with just a small number of songs, finding themselves always being nothing beyond the band that opened for the band that was opening. But by the Summer of 1999, they had recorded a full length demo CD entitled "Voice of Treason." They began to earn small spots in larger music festivals and before long stepped up from being the band that opened for the openers to being the opening band itself. They had even managed to land a spot in the Fall on the "To Be Announced" tour, playing in front of nationwide audiences along with bands such as Many More and Everything Else. In the Spring of 2000, the band decided that things were moving too fast for them and decided to take some time off. For most of the next year they concentrated on their studies and only played a select few local shows, effectively disappearing from the national scene altogether. But when December rolled around, they came to a mutual decision that it was time to get back into the game. This time, however the Screaming Ferrets decided to bypass touring and began to shop their demo album around to different record labels. By late January, they landed a deal with Bittersweet Communications and began production on a four song EP to be released this August. What happens next for the Screaming Ferrets? Well, that depends on what the next year holds. Only time will tell. |
